in class yesterday we learned about enzymes and such. well, biotech companies have come up with new ways of making "designer cellulosomes." cellulosomes are these enzymes on the cell surface of bacteria that turn glucose into ethanol (which is quite handy in times like these.) i laughed when i heard designer cellulosomes. i'm a label whore and i can't wait to get prada cellulosomes (even though that wasn't what he meant).
the weather is so odd. sunny in the morning and then cloudy a few hours later, windy always. and i read this article on the bbc where scientists saw a seal raping a penguin. that is so sad! i feel so sorry for the penguin. the penguin was only 15 kg while the seal was 100kg. :(
