words and will
Stuck.
I hate having writer's bloc. But I do love typing away on my laptop in the library. It makes me feel oh so scholarly. Yet, my brain is stuck - it has no idea how to make coherent phrases and articulate thoughts, just a jumble of adsjkfsdfgreu. sigh.

Walkers and Drivers
I hate being a pedestrian - drivers always try to run me over. It's usually the old lady who forgets to stop at the crosswalk, people speeding down the hill, or stupid people who continue to drive despite people walking. UGH. They annoy me.

rhetoric and inspiration
There's a circle of Obama supporters sitting in front of me - I think they're working for his campaign. They're gushing about how he's an inspiration and how much they love him and politics. I can't help but want to roll my eyes. I used to feel that way about Obama four years ago, but now I can't really explain why I felt that way about him. It's his rhetoric and charisma that I attribute to those feelings from before. I hope there's actual substance behind the rhetoric; I hope that it;s not just invoking inspiration only to have it falter later. Maybe I'm just so jaded with this whole politics thing- especially with the government in California....

lj and stupid
i'm annoyed with the ucberkeley lj community - well, just one person in particular. i just asked a simple question and he answered with the stupidest reply ever. ummmm.... was that really worth it and necessary? and does it really help that you get to aggravate me when i'm trying to find an answer to something stressing me out? what a douchebag - and this is the person who complained about people being mean to him on lj. uggh.
prom and dreams
Prom
this is such a cute article. i did grow up with high hopes on going to prom. but high school and the people in it squashed those hopes. YAY for our tea party! :)

lab and beer
it's really hilarious how crazy my lab has bonded together in the past two weeks. already, we're planning parties and drinking. well, the "party" is actually our group getting together to work on a presentation. but it's been turned into a pizza + beer party. i'm down for pizza - i don't know about the beer part. they're planning birthday parties and going to happy hour at the bar on campus and baseball game outings. mcb majors are REALLY into drinking. it's hilarious. a friend of a friend told me that her professor who happens to also ta for the lab takes them to happy hour after lab and picks up the tab. how crazy is that? you get to drink loads of alcohol in a dirty bar with a well known scientist? berkeley definitely equals beer.

charms and sitters
I ate almost half a box of Lucky Charms yesterday until the marshmallows made my throat hurt because of all the sugar. I felt like a five-year-old.
As I was walking home from class yesterday, there were like four helicopters focused on school. I was wondering what the heck was going down. Turns out, they're finally trying to take down the tree-sitters from the grove next to Memorial Stadium. Thank god.
The weather is finally nice again! :)
and from the sounds overhead, i guess something is going down at the grove today, which is expected considering the court ruling comes down today. finally! an end to this thing.

Early and Cold
What happened to summer? The bay ate it.
It's 51 degrees! in the middle of June! How can that be? I'm freezing and the winds are making my fingers numb. Everybody's wearing a jacket and my sweater's not keeping me any warm than it should. I thought I would look like a freak by wearing an extra thick sweater, but that would've helped since it's FREEZING. The sun's gone and the clouds have taken the blue out of my perfect sky. It was so nice and sunny yesterday. I'm sad. I miss the sun. The seasons in the Bay Area: Cold - Rain - Slightly less cold. :(

another and another
I jinxed myself with the previous post about not having to bundle myself up. I am wearing a turtle neck and sweater because I'm icky sick. I slept for 15 hours yesterday - thank god I don't have a lot to do yet. But, it's 62 degrees here - so it's okay to wear a sweater. I misjudged the weather here by spending the two weeks in sunny, hot LA where I can get away with just a t-shirt and shorts. I should've realized that Berkeley doesn't get too warm except for some exceptional days where it hits 90. I hate being sick. Although, it gives me a great excuse to go to Jamba!

life and thoughts
My throat hurts for some odd reason. I hope hope hope that I'm not getting sick. Also, I read yesterday that the area I live in is "swanky." Obviously, those people are not from around there, because it sure ain't swanky. I don't think rats running around in the pipes and bugs everywhere qualifies as swanky. This is so utterly depressing.

Summer and School
I'm liking summer. There's no need to carry around a sweater or umbrella. I don't have to be all bundled up and afraid of getting rained on. Summer!

Bright and Early
My cousin and I had returned to sunny Southern California expecting sweltering heat, but it was cloudy and cool. I had driven back Thursday with my parents and we had missed the crazy storms in LA. All along the way, we were wondering why it had become cloudy and dark once we passed the grapevine. This was actually the only time where I stayed awake for most of the six hour trip. I really like long trips in the car and I didn't mind the smell of cow poo that accumulates along the 5.
Then, my cousin's flight was delayed and she arrived in LA at midnight. I was so sleepy. The weather put a damp on our plans of going to the beach. I hadn't seen my cousin in the longest time and we had a lot of fun together. We ate A LOT of cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory; we went shopping; we watched Indiana Jones (love love love love it!); we ate dim sum in Chinatown; we ate gelato - basically, we got really fat. I also ate two boxes of chocolate and a piece of tiramisu. I managed to eat so much sugar in ONE weekend. My cousin even made this guy's day because we were on the freeway and this orange sportscar pulled up next to it and my cousin smiled at the driver and it totally made his day - buying that sportscar really gets girls' attention.
Since my cousin left on Sunday, I've been a bum. I've watched A LOT of t.v. and I've been doing crossword puzzles. I get such a great feeling when I fill in all the little boxes. I really hate watching those milk commercials with that ugly dude. If drinking milk makes me obnoxious, ugly, and untalented - I would never touch the stuff. Those commercials are so annoying.
I found a new favorite bagel - strawberry bagel! OMG It's so yummy, better than real strawberries. Well, maybe not. But they were awesome. I can't believe I'm back at school already. I start classes tomorrow. My break passed me by so quickly - I barely finished what I had planned to do. I didn't really get to read for fun because my brain was dead and all I wanted to do was watch television. I did get some time to think about grad school and I realized about how there'll be so many schools I'll never attend and I wonder if I'll miss out on something. When applying to college, I hadn't applied to some schools I was interested in and I reasoned that I'll apply to them for graduate school. But, now it looks like I won't apply to those schools. It's weird, even though I've complained about hating not being in Los Angeles, I still want to attend out of state schools. I still want to live on the East Coast and such. I'm getting so old. Before long, I'll be looking for a job.
