I read the BBC everyday. I really look for the news about Thailand because the politics over there is intense. The BBC paint the people I agree with as "aristocratic, royalist, traditionalist elite". That gives the connotation that these people are self-centered and caring just for their well-being and such. I feel that the correspondents don't really understand what is going on. How could they? They're usually British and live in Thailand for only a few years until they get a better post. They don't understand the culture and tradition and what has gone wrong. I don't think they truly understand what is at the heart of all this.
But this leads to the question of whether I'm the biased one. I don't think so because I look at the situation with my own perspective - what happens over there doesn't directly affect me over here. Politics gets me down so much. So much is wrong with the world. Leaders use words to gain power but never really own up to those words. I feel like a jaded old person....
